Meet Dr. Haylee McKeehan

Chiropractic was something that I initially thought was a little strange and I was a little unsure how it could benefit me.

I first became a chiropractic patient in college after an athletic injury to my shoulder. This began my journey to understand how everything was connected in the human body and the many benefits that can be accomplished through chiropractic adjustments. The chiropractor I saw adjusted my shoulder and back. I was truly amazed by the amount of relief I felt. Not only did my back and shoulder have better function, the adjustments also improved my athletic ability. I was a fastpitch softball pitcher in college, so any improvement to my athletic ability was immediately noticed and provided an edge against my competitors. The quality of care that my chiropractor provided exceeded my previous experiences and expectations. He built a personal relationship with me and was truly invested in my care and doing everything he could to make me feel and perform better.

My Chiropractic Education

I always knew I wanted to do something in the medical field, even before I experienced chiropractic. I studied pre-med at Chadron State College in Nebraska where I received two bachelor’s degrees and planned to attend University of Nebraska Medical Center. However, my college chiropractic experience and the personal relationship built made me realize I wanted to be able to provide the same experience to my future patients. This was when I changed my specialty and decided to study chiropractic at Cleveland University-Kansas City.

During my time at Cleveland University, I learned much about the human body and the intricate details it possesses. I became a doctor of chiropractic in 2023 with chiropractic specialties in Acupuncture/Dry needling, FAKTR, and Webster techniques. Acupuncture and Dry Needling help with muscle trigger points and in more severe cases help facilitate healing of an organ or organ system. The FAKTR technique is a rehabilitation technique that focuses on the treatment of athletes. The Webster technique is primarily for pre and postpartum mothers as well as infants.

One of the biggest joys I get from chiropractic is how non-invasive treatments can produce such significant results. A quote that has inspired me throughout my studies from B.J Palmer states “Medicine is the study of disease and what causes man to die. Chiropractic is the study of health and what causes man to live.”

On a Personal Note…

Athletics have always been a huge part of my life. I played basketball, soccer, and softball from the time I could walk. In high school I focused my attention on softball and aspired to obtain a college softball scholarship as a pitcher. I did well and was the number one fast pitch pitcher in Colorado during the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons. My efforts allowed me to obtain a full-ride scholarship to Chadron State College in Nebraska. I learned a lot about hard work, dedication, and goal setting through being an athlete. I believe these lessons not only helped me through school, but has driven me to give my patients the best care I possibly can. I am able to relate to my patients with different athletic injuries, because I understand how important it is to heal as quickly as possible as well as heal in a way that is going to prevent the injury from re-appearing. It is also important to correct the disfunction which may have led to the initial injury. It is my goal as a FAKTR certified chiropractor to help any athletes with aspirations to continue their athletic dreams of playing at the next level, whether that is going into middle school, high school, a new traveling team, or even college and professional ambitions!

I have always loved working with children. Children have a special way of making me realize that life is good and not to stress about the little things. I have admired their “can do” attitude and want to help ensure that they never lose it. It is also important to recognize the mothers and what their bodies go through during pregnancy. This is one of the main reasons I decided to become certified in the Webster technique. This technique allows me to help Mothers throughout pregnancy and facilitate the birthing process and bringing new life into the world. This technique promotes healthy mothers and healthy babies.
